Meet the Artist – Katrina Younts
I first started drawing when I was 3 years old, and only reason I remember that is because of my mother’s story. She would tell me and many others how I drew the kitchen appliances with a crayon, and she could tell what each one was without me telling her what they were.
What are your favorite things to draw?
I love to draw things like dragons, demons and humanoids, or human-beast type creatures. Drawing normal people is fun, too, but I very much prefer the fantasy side of things, and the darker the better.
Who are some of your artistic inspirations?
Unfortunately I do not have any specific people for artistic inspiration, but I do get my inspiration from anime or manga! Being a quarter Japanese by blood, I absolutely love the culture and creativity!
Any projects you’re working on or looking forward to working on?
I currently have two personal projects. One involves painting a complex and detailed acrylic painting on a very large canvas that I made myself, and the other is a Kirin (Chinese Unicorn) full-scale clay sculpture. I am greatly looking forward to how the two turn out and pray they come to life the way I imagine them in my head.
What’s a good way for fans to check out your work?
