Meet the Creators – Marissa Pruett & Rachel Brown
When did you start drawing?
Marissa: I started drawing before I started school.
Rachel: I started drawing last summer when I visited Marissa in OK.
What are your favorite things to draw?
Rachel: I like to draw dogs, flowers, Disney characters, and landscapes.
Marissa: Anything that breathes. Drawing the library was different and good practice.
Who are some of your artistic inspirations?
Rachel: My two close friends who are artists inspire me.
Marissa: Art teachers, friends, children’s book illustrators, and the beauty
in God’s artwork have been some of the greatest influences on my art.
Any projects you’re working on or looking forward to working on?
Marissa: Right now I’m illustrating a children’s book about doggies, and
doing preproduction on animation for Badges and Backpacks, a local nonprofit.
Rachel: I am working in sketchbooks right now, improving my skills! My current project is a tricky waterfall.
